Laika was founded in 1964 by Giovambattista Moscardini through a fascination with the concept of discovery and adventure. The name "Laika" was used as an homage to the first dog to travel to outer space. The Laika logo depicts a red greyhound with wings to further reflect this. After beginning with caravan production in the 1960's and early 70's, Laika produced the first motorhome in 1977.
