Pilote Motorhomes
Pilote is a French motorhome manufacturer and company which originated in 1962 when they produced their first caravan. In 1978, inspired by a trip to the US, Pilote produced the first prototype for a coachbuilt motorhome based on a Bedford chassis. In 1983 Pilote is the leading French motorhome manufacturer and devises the first low profile motorhome and launches the R300 model. By 1988 Pilote has moved into the production of A-class motorhomes and succeeds in the export market across Europe. Pilote buys back the German manufacturer Frankia in 1990 and these acquisitions continue into the 21st century as Le Voyager is purchased by the group in 2000 and RMB is bought in 2001. Pilote launched Mooveo in 2006 as a well-equipped yet highly affordable motorhome brand.
In 2008 Pilote widened their range of motorhomes and introduced the Explorateur to include A-class models which are based on the Fiat AL-KO base. In the same year Pilote also launched the City Van, an A-class van less than 6m in length.
As well as remaining ever popular in its native France, Pilote motorhomes are exported across Europe, including the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Austria and Italy.
Some of Pilot's defining marks of quality include: air conditioning as standard on all vehicle bases, insulation on all walls, aluminium side skirts, sliding kitchen drawers, under-bench storage, and a lowered entrance step.

As well as owners of Pilote motorhomes, the association also welcomes members who own CityVan, Le Voyager and Mooveo motorhomes. The Pilote Owners Association holds rallies and events for its member as well as offering a forum for discussion online.
